Undergraduate TAs

The first course in the Freshman Research Initiative course sequence is Research Methods, which is taught to over 500 brand new freshman each year and which requires a number of undergraduate TAs to work with students in all fields.

We are currently hiring Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (UGTAs) for several sections of this course, to be taught Fall 2009.

Who can be a UGTA?

We are looking for bright, motivated students who are interested in sharing what they've learned about science and the research enterprise.  Students can be any classification, but research, mentoring, tutoring or FRI experience is a plus. In addition you must have:

  • A 3.0 UT GPA
  • Ability to spend 5-10 hours per week assisting with Research Methods
  • Complete training provided by the College of Natural Sciences Tutor and Mentor Academy

How do I apply?
